Cost Out Engineer-VAVE

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Perform VAVE study and identify cost out opportunities which are quality neutral. Perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project.

• Execute cost out opportunity mining exercises within Mechanical domain by spend – pareto analysis, should cost, competitor benchmarking, tear down etc.

• Smoothly interfaces to sourcing, operations, quality, service and global R&D team, as well as external suppliers, vendors and customers.

• Works as technical expert in mechanical engineering domain, responsible for technical solutions and engineering specifications. Leads standardizations of mechanical design process, optimizes and popularizes design best practice.

• Leads project planning/execution in system architecture strategy, engineering proposal as well as mechanical design, development, qualification, validation to ensure system level functionality, performance, safety, and quality in line with the company product development process

• Ensures that assigned projects are delivered on-time, to specification, and at or below target cost by solid engineering plans, including quality, cost, schedule, and risk assessment. Reports on project progress.

• Approaches problems in a rational manner and with best in class tools to ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Conduct casting simulations to optimize the design and manufacturing process for clients in the foundry industry
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions
• Utilize CAD/CAM software to create 3D models of casting designs
• Perform analysis using CAE software to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of castings
• Generate reports and present findings to clients, providing recommendations for design modifications
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in casting simulation technology
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the simulation and manufacturing process
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful implementation of casting designs.
